This happened a while ago, and makes me chuckle every so often.
Last season, in the midst of our collective frustration at our unfulfilled season, festooned in my Arsenal kit and on my way
back from one of our not-so-productive games, I stopped at a petrol station to get some gas.
In the queue behind me stood a man and a little girl that looked like his daughter, both of them in full Chelsea kit. Whilst we all waited patiently in queue, the little girl piped up to her Dad:
Little Girl: "Why is he wearing an Arsenal shirt?"
Dad: "Shhh..."
It's my turn at the counter, and I walk up and hand over cash. The assistant gives me change, and waits to hand over the till receipt.
Little Girl, louder: "Daddy, why is that man wearing an Arsenal shirt?"
Dad: "Well it must be because he supports Arsenal."
Little Girl: "Why would anyone support Arsenal, they've never won anything?"
Collective laugh from everyone in the queue, and the shop.
Quizzical look from little girl.
Embarrassed laugh from Dad who gives me a sheepish look as I walk out, still laughing.
What do you say to that?
