A really close friend of mine came down with Guillain-Barré syndrome last week, one of the rarest ailments possible. In the UK, out of a population of 60 million, about 1500 people get it every year. It really is a most frightening prospect to go from walking, talking, standing tall to being unable to use your arms or legs in just 4 days...

We could have nicked it in the end, but still, we mustn’t complain. Sunday’s game against Chelsea was always going to be either tight or tetchy - in the end, it was a bit of both.
